About Shores Community centre

“While we have the ability, we have the responsibility.”

Shores is here for the people of Southern Holderness. We’re a small, local charity based in Withernsea, offering practical support, friendly faces, and a place where everyone is welcome to drop in, ask for help, or simply feel part of something.

Most of our work happens through the Southern Holderness Resource Centre. It’s a hub for advice, information, digital support, training, community projects, and those everyday conversations that make a difference. Whether someone needs guidance, a bit of support during a tough patch, or a chance to build confidence and skills, we’re here to make things easier.

We work closely with local groups, health teams, councils, and volunteers to bring services into the heart of the community. Everything we do is shaped by the people who use us — their ideas, their experiences, and the things they tell us matter most.

Shores is built on kindness, practicality, and a genuine belief in this area. We’re proud to stand alongside our community and help create opportunities for people to feel connected, supported, and able to move forward in their own way.

Vision

A community where people feel supported, included, and able to move forward in their own way. We want Shores to be a place where help is easy to find, where services work together, and where everyone has the chance to take part, contribute, and feel connected.

Mission

To use our skills, space, and local knowledge to support the people of Southern Holderness. When we have the ability to help, we take responsibility for doing so, offering practical support, connection, and opportunities that make everyday life a little easier for our community.
